The Canadian Ski Marathon takes pride in rewarding its participants for completing specific goals during the CSM weekend. There are many classes that relate to all age groups for individual and team registrations in which awards are presented every year. A list of the awards relating to the specific classes is as follows:
AWARDS FOR INDIVIDUAL CLASSES
TOURER AWARDS:
Awards are given for the number of sections completed, not the distance skied.
Mighty Mite Award
8 years or younger
Mighty Mite Or/Gold - 3 sections
Mighty Mite Argent/Sliver - 2 sections
Might Mite Bronze - 1 section
Snowy Owl Award
9-12 years
Snowy Owl Or/Gold - 5 sections
Snowy Owl Argent/Sliver - 4 sections
Snowy Owl Bronze - 3 section
Lockeberg Award
13-16 years
Lockeberg Or/Gold - 6 sections
Lockeberg Argent/Sliver - 5 sections
Lockeberg Bronze - 4 section
Johannsen Award
17 years and older
Johannsen Or/Gold - 7 sections
Johannsen Argent/Sliver - 6 sections
Johannsen Bronze - 5 section
Weber Touring Award
Tourers who complete more than 50 sections in a number of years
Silver Tip Award
65 years or older
HALF MARATHON AWARDS:
Geo Plein Air Classic
80 km in one day, starting at 6:30am
Half Marathon Bronze
Completion of 3 sections of the trail
Half Marathon Silver
Completion of 4 sections of the trail
Half Marathon Gold
Completion of 5 sections of the trail
COUREUR DES BOIS AWARDS:
awards given for those who ski the entire 160 km
Coureur des Bois Bronze
Completion of all 10 sections of the trail
Coureur des Bois Silver
Completion of all 10 sections of the trail carrying a pack weighing a minimum of 5 kilograms.
Coureur des Bois Gold
Completion of all 10 sections of the trail carrying a pack weighing a minimum of 5 kilograms and camping outdoors Saturday night at a designated area.
Coureur des Bois Gold Bar
For Coureur des Bois who have previously achieved Coureur des Bois Gold or Gold Bar.
Hugh Blachford Memorial Trophy
Oldest successful male and female Coureur des Bois
Hat Trick Award
A Marathon in three events recognized by the CSM.
To qualify for a Hat Trick Award you:
- Must have completed the CSM as a Coureur des Bois;
- Must have run any marathon in under five (5) hours; and
- Must have completed any "double century" cycling tour (two 100-mile tours or 160 km in two consecutive days) in an official event (e.g., the Rideau Lakes Cycle Tour)
- The three events must be completed within one calendar year.
- Certificates of completion must be at the CSM Office by December 31, 2008). Recipients will receive their award at the banquet. Any request received after December 31, 2008 will be held until the following year.
- A $50 fee is requested for administration.
TEAM CLASSES
Château Montebello Trophy
Mens Touring Team; 4 men, any age who complete the most sections
Ottawa Ski Club Trophy
Mens Veteran Touring Team; 4 men, each 45 years of age or older, who complete the most sections
Lachute Trophy
Womens Touring Team, any age, who complete the most sections
Grey Mères Trophy
Womens Veteran Touring Team, each 45 years of age or older, who complete the most sections
Siren Trophy
Mixed Touring Team; 4 skiers, any age, must include both genders who ski the most sections
Jim Quarles Memorial Trophy
Mixed Veterans Touring Team; 4 skiers, each 60 years of age or older and must include both genders, who ski the most sections
Celanese Trophy
Family Touring Team; 4 or more family members, any age, 4 best results (including at least one parents results) who ski the most sections
Viking Trophy
Junior Touring Team comprised of 4 junior skiers 16 years of age and under who complete the most sections
RA Ski Club Trophy
Corporate Touring Team comprised of a minimum of 12 skiers, submitted under a common team name, 20 best results are combined to determine teams standing.

IMPORTANT
- Teams: If you are a part of a team, indicate on your registration form your team name, captain, and names of the other team members
- You may only enter one category. If you are a member of a team, you may not register as a Coureur des Bois. No team changes after December 31, 2009
- Members of Touring teams also qualify for individual awards
- Coureur des Bois: Be sure to specify B (bronze), C (silver), D (gold) or E (Gold Bar)
- Coureur des Bois categories are progressive. Only upon completion of one Coureur des Bois level (bronze, silver, gold) can a skier qualify for the next higher level
- Junior Coureur des Bois (16 & under) must be accompanied by a parent or guardian also entered as a Coureur des Bois
- It is recommended that Coureur des Bois have a medical examination before the event.
