Canadian Ski Marathon

One Day Challenge!

Take part in the Canadian Ski Marathon, Sunday February 11 and participe in the One Day Challenge! Skiers registered to the One Day Challenge will take the start in Montebello around 6:00 am and will be invited to complete as many sections as possible in order to get an award. The One Day Challenge is for skiers that want to experience the CSM spirit but only have one day to take advantage of our legendary trail. The participants in this category will have until 3:15 pm to reach the 4th checkpoint (check point 9) and continue their day.

Prizes in this category will be awarded as follows:

Géo Plein Air Classic Gold - awarded to skiers who complete 4 sections

Géo Plein Air Classic Silver - awarded to skiers who complete 3 sections.

Registration fee for the One Day Challenge:

Mini-CSM, Free for skiers 17 and under

Once again this year, skiers 17 and under can ski one section of the trail for free - section 6 on Saturday OR section 1 on Sunday. It is a unique opportunity for young skiers to take advantage of our trail and share the spirit of the event with the other skiers. For security reasons and to get a bib number, please take note that you have to fill up a registration form.

Family Fun Day at the Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello

It is Saturday, February 10 that families with young children are invited to take part in the Family Fun Day at the Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello. This one day package includes skiing on the hotel's 3 km trail, lunch at the Bistro and swimming in the hotel's pool.

The schedule for the day is:

Cross-country ski: between 10am and noon

Lunch at the Bistro: from 12pm to 2pm

Swim: from 1pm to 4:30pm

Rates for the Family Fun Day are:

Family Fun Day (13+) - $25

Family Fun Day (4-12) - $17

Family Fun Day (3 and under) - free

HAT TRICK AWARD

To qualify for a Hat Trick Award you:

Must have completed the CSM as a Coureur des Bois;
Must have run any marathon in under five (5) hours;
Must have completed any "double century" cycling tour (two 100-mile tours or 160 km in two consecutive days) in an official event (e.g., the Rideau Lakes Cycle Tour)
The three events must be completed within one calendar year.
Certificates of completion must be at the CSM Office by December 31, 2006) for recipients to receive their award at the banquet. Any request received after December 31, 2006 will be held until the following year.
Application cost: $40
